Birthdays & Babies

The first 2 cakes were birthday cakes. I love it when cake requests come in for the same weekend that are fairly similar! I also love it when flavors match, but these two were very different! The gift box cake was Dark Chocolate Cake with Coconut Filling. The 30th birthday cake’s bottom layer was Banana Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Filling and the top layer was Vanilla White Cake with Orange Curd Filling. I like it when people are adventurous with their cake flavors too!

The cookies were for a baby shower. They were handpainted to match the invitations to the party.

The Cake That Almost Was…

Movie-Themed Cake

Movie-Themed Cake

Back in August, I was contacted by a school to make a cake for their fundraising auction. Over the last several months, we’ve emailed back and forth to come up with the perfect cake for their event. I spent a few hours designing it, several hours in the last week getting the decorations finished so they had time to dry, a few hours baking, and then several more hours decorating the cake. And I know I’m a few days late, but I hope everyone’s 2010 is better than their 2009!

Birthdays, Baptisms and Bangs…oh my!

This was a BUSY weekend!  There was a first birthday cake (with a dozen cupcakes too), a big baptism cake and 2 dozen cupcakes for a 4th of July celebration!  This coming week will be busy too…a birthday cake for my son and my first wedding cake!

This cake was awesome!! Everyone at the party commented on how wonderful it looked and then when we ate it, everyone was yet again impressed at how tasty and moist it was!!! Thank you, Emily for making my son’s cake and first birthday so special and memorable!!! ~Jennifer Flanagan

We wanted to thank you for the beautiful cake for Zachary’s baptism.  It looked great and tasted even better!  I love decorating cakes myself but now with three kids I can’t ever imagine having the time it takes to complete ones like I did when my girls were little.  I’m sure we’ll be in touch with you again for future celebrations. ~Nicole Lowe

Happy Birthday, Jackson!

This is a cake I did today for the brother of the girl who got the princess cake!  This cake was a challenge, but I really like the result!

Happy Birthday, John Henry!

~Everyone loved JH’s cake.  It was delicious.
