Birthdays & Babies

The first 2 cakes were birthday cakes. I love it when cake requests come in for the same weekend that are fairly similar! I also love it when flavors match, but these two were very different! The gift box cake was Dark Chocolate Cake with Coconut Filling. The 30th birthday cake’s bottom layer was Banana Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Filling and the top layer was Vanilla White Cake with Orange Curd Filling. I like it when people are adventurous with their cake flavors too!

The cookies were for a baby shower. They were handpainted to match the invitations to the party.

Remember the twins?  Here are their baby shower cakes, one and two.  And their christening cake.  Well, they just turned ONE!  They are in love with the chicken from the Sprout Network, Chica…so Chicas they got!  And the sun, well I’ve decided to call him Sunny!

Happy Birthday, Alexis!  Happy Birthday, Kendall!  May you have many, many more birthdays! 🙂

A Baptism, Some Birthdays & an Anniversary

The first cake was for my husband’s cousin’s daughter’s baptism (whew!).  It was a fun cake and I enjoyed testing out some new ways to do things!

The second two cakes were ordered by my Dad for an October birthday party at his work.  I really enjoyed going back to the Wilton-flower roots, as this is my 1-year anniversary month for when I first started taking classes.  It was then that I realized how much I truly enjoyed decorating and creating cakes!  So, Thanks Dad!

And these are a few of my favorite things…

Fall is my favorite season!  I love the weather, the colors, the smells in the air, the crispness before winter hits…I love it all.  So when I was asked to do a fall-themed cake, I was super excited.  The bride had lots of ideas, so we combined them all together into this cake.  Every tier was a different flavor and three side cakes were ordered with it, all serving 360 people!  It was one big cake!

Happiest of Birthdays to Carter and Braden!

Swimming Pool Cake and Cupcakes for Birthday

Swimming Pool Cake and Cupcakes for Birthday

Let me start by saying this was the most fun cake to deliver!  When we pulled up, the two boys were both sitting on the front porch!  They both wanted to help carry it inside and then oo-ed and ah-ed over it and wanted to touch it!  They kept asking if everything was edible!  SUPER cute!

Thank you very much!  The cake and cupcakes were great!  Everyone loved them!  I have several people that would like your website information to order cakes for their next event.  I will definitely have you make our next cake if you are interested!  Thanks again!  ~Amanda

Birthday Cake and Building Blocks

Yesterday, we had a baby shower and a birthday party all rolled into one day!  The baby shower was for my husband’s cousin and the birthday party was for my niece and my two boys.  Both parties were fun and I’m VERY thankful everyone decided to have them in doors, because it was ONE HOT DAY yesterday!

Book Club Cake

This cake was for my Grandma and her book club.  They were reading their 400th book since the beginning of the club…so Grandma thought it would be appropriate to have cake…I agree! 🙂

Easter/Birthday Cake

Easter/Birthday Cake

I’m taking this cake to our 6th Annual Joellenbeck Easter Egg Hunt today!  It’s doubling as a birthday cake.  It’s a yellow cake on the bottom and a chocolate cake on top.  It’s iced in buttercream, gumpaste daisies and sign, fondant bunny and fence, and the Easter eggs are made from white modeling chocolate.

I hope your families have a truely Happy Easter!

The Shower Cake of All Shower Cakes!

Monkey Baby Shower Cake with Flamingo

Monkey Baby Shower Cake with Flamingo

This cake was SO MUCH FUN!!  I’m not sure if it was because I’ve known the mom since the day she was born (of course, I was only 1, but hey!) or if it was because this was the first stacked cake I’ve done!  I designed the cake after the babies’ room and the flamingo on top was in honor of her love for them!  The mom is having twins, a girl and a boy!  The bottom was a white cake with raspberry filling and white chocolate buttercream and the top was yellow cake with lemon filling and white chocolate buttercream.  The monkeys and flower plaques were made out of modeling chocolate and the flamingo was made out of gumpaste.  Many congrats and happy blessings to Amy & Barry!
