The Father’s Day Cakes:
Dad loved his cake. He was impressed by the “stitching” on the toolbelt. My nieces and nephew fought over who got to eat the tools. ~Kay

Congratulations Laura and Ryan! May you live long, happy lives and always enjoy each other’s company!
These cakes were absolutely awesome! Thank you so much Emily for your hard work. They tasted as good as they looked (and I had three out of the four flavors). Thank you again for a fabulous job! ~Laura
This is the cake I did for my Grandma’s 80th birthday this past weekend. It is a culmination of some of her ‘loves’…traveling, teaching and gardening.
The bottom layer was a suitcase covered in edible luggage stickers from some of the places she’s traveled. Â The next tier was the “teacher” tier and it had an edible blackboard, an apple made from puffed rice cereal treats and a turtle. Â I did the top tier of her birthday cake with a flower pot made out of cake and the sugar Ranunculus flowers because for as long as I’ve been alive (and much longer I’m sure) she’s had envious really nice gardens in her homes. Â The Plumeria blossoms were on the cake because she loved Hawaii so much she bought a pair of Plumeria earrings (which she happened to be wearing that day!)
Happy Birthday, Grandma!  I really enjoyed planning out and making your birthday cake!  You are a wonderful inspiration to me–your determination, stamina, hard work, thoughtfulness, caring, compassion and so much more!  I love you!
“How does one thank you for such an incredible gift–your cake, your talent, your time–all precious…a gift like that has such a short life, but it will last in my memory.” ~Grandma
FINALLY, a blog post…with content and pictures!! Don’t fall off your chairs, folks…I know it’s been a while! I’ve decided that instead of doing separate posts for each cake, that I would group them into categories! I’ll start off with the birthday cakes from the month of September (and a few from the end of August too!).
***Click on each of the pictures for a description of the cakes!***

The “cake gods” were smiling on me today! Â I made an almost-last-minute decision to deliver this cake in pieces and assemble on-site. Â Boy am I glad I made that decision! Â The roads to get to the venue were windy, hilly, pot-holey and SUPER bumpy! Â I’m 100% positive that had I stacked it, it would either not have made it, or I would still be trying to drive it there…very, very slowly! Â The beautiful bride is a cousin of a few of my cousins and she chose a GORGEOUS place to be married! Â The venue was almost out in the woods and had lots of windows viewing the surrounding trees. Â I wish I would have taken some pictures, but guest were starting to arrive as I finished.
Congratulations, Michelle and David! Â May you have many, many happy years together! Â It was a real pleasure working with you to create your special cake!
Another cake from this weekend…this was a very simple, small cake that I made for a birthday party. Â It was made to look like the party ware.
Emily ~ I just wanted to email you and tell you how absolutely adorable and wonderful the cake was for my sister’s party. Everyone could not stop talking about it. I was so excited about it I almost did wait until present time to show it off. It also tasted as good as it looked.  I just cannot say enough outstanding things about it. It was perfect! Thank you again for delivering it. Your card is on my fridge and I have bragged to all of my friends at work how cute it was.  We will definitely be ordering in the future. ~ Jennifer
This cake was for a rehearsal dinner last night. Â The groom loves the Simpsons, so his mom requested the cake as a surprise. Â I love the way it turned out! Â I got to use my airbrush again, so that was fun! Â And I created a stencil for the first time for Homer’s face.
Best wishes to the bride and groom…today is their wedding day! Â Hopefully the rain will hold off! Â Congratulations!
How-to will follow on how to clean up black food coloring from white fondant!
Just had to let you know right away that your cake was totally awesome. Our son was excited about it – all  his friends, also. Lots of pictures were taken—it was delicious and picture perfect. We gave your web site address to lots of people. Thanks again, you are very talented. ~Betty

This cake was made for a donation to a fundraising event for our school. The event was a wine tasting and it was to be a part of a raffle. This cake was a difficult one for me, not because the cake was difficult, but because I ended up having to bake it twice…at 2 AM. There was a mini mental breakdown at 4AM and after a few hours of sleep and the help of my sister, who watched the kids for a few hours, I was able to focus and knock it out. I would have taken pictures, but I REALLY would rather NOT remember it!
Emily, everyone loved your cake. A friend of Mrs. Shannon’s won it and is going out of town so she gave it to the teachers. They are all in for a wonderful treat Monday!!!! ~ Kathy
UPDATED 04/12/2010: I found out last yesterday that this cake was won by a woman who turned around and donated it to the teachers at the school to enjoy! I think that’s very sweet and I hope they all enjoyed it today!

Emily we loved the cake and cupcakes. Carrot was the favorite! Almost too pretty to eat! ~ Erica
I also loved delivering this cake! The little one that was the reason for the cake had the same kind of hair that my youngest son had when he was an infant (I miss that hair!)…I’ll leave you with a bonus picture of my son when he was only a few weeks old!
This is a Curious George Birthday cake for a little girl turning one. The mom had the cutest George party ware and it made it super easy to come up with a design for the cake! Stay tuned for a how-to on the bow loops!
Happy 1st Birthday, Grace!
This cake was for my daughter Grace’s first birthday party. It was a hit! Everyone loved it. Not only did it look fabulous, it tasted great! Emily did such a wonderful job. I could not have asked for any part of the experience to have been better. Emily is a true artist and professional. GREAT JOB! We will be back! ~ Cheryl
